ADAJO is an Italian DJ and producer based in Rome, working in hypnotic, dub leaning techno: deep, physical, slow burning, built to pull a room together rather than impress it.
He is part of the Sintonia collective and learned his craft in the clubs of Abruzzo and Molise, where he also spent several years as artistic director at Roof Club in Isernia: small rooms, long nights, crowds to be won over rather than taken for granted. That is where he learned to listen to a room before giving it a direction, and to play the way he does now: patient, layered, letting repetition do the work.
His Flusso EP on Blush Recordings was picked up by Richie Hawtin, BLANKA and Ignez. Hawtin has since returned to the catalogue, from Time Warp to Valle d'Itria. BLANKA played Respira in her Boiler Room set in Warsaw. Cadere stayed in Ignez's rotation, including at GRÜV in Paris.
New material is forthcoming on This Is Not Records and on Intrinsik Music's Black Mesa compilation.

ADAJO è un DJ e producer italiano con base a Roma. Lavora su una techno ipnotica dal peso dub: profonda, fisica, a combustione lenta, fatta per unire una sala più che per impressionarla.
Fa parte del collettivo Sintonia e si è formato nei club tra Abruzzo e Molise dove per alcuni anni ha anche curato la direzione artistica del Roof Club di Isernia: sale piccole, notti lunghe, un pubblico da conquistare invece che da dare per scontato. È lì che ha imparato ad ascoltare una sala prima di darle una direzione, e a suonare come suona oggi: in modo paziente, stratificato, lasciando che la ripetizione faccia il suo lavoro.
L'EP Flusso su Blush Recordings è stato raccolto da Richie Hawtin, BLANKA e Ignez. Da allora Hawtin è tornato più volte sul catalogo, da Time Warp a Valle d'Itria. BLANKA ha suonato Respira nel suo Boiler Room a Varsavia. Cadere è rimasto nei set di Ignez, anche al GRÜV di Parigi.
Nuovo materiale è in uscita su This Is Not Records e sulla compilation Black Mesa di Intrinsik Music.
ADAJO non insegue il dancefloor. Costruisce uno spazio e lascia che le persone arrivino.
